For the last 23 years, I’ve specialized in finding ways to bring the customers’ voice into management decision making.

Whether conducting marketing research, or implementing a marketing strategy based on new insights, my professional experience is based on a single principle….

Customers know more about their own preferences, perceptions and ‘purchase intent’ than we do.

So, before designing and launching your next program, invest a few weeks in listening to what they have to say.

What would your customers say?

In order to know, you have to ask them!

For businesses with a small base of clients, I prefer one-on-one telephone interviews. For those with larger client bases, an Internet survey is more appropriate.

Regardless of the research method employed, you have to find a way to get their feedback into your decision making process. That’s where I can help.

With this simple step, you’ll always gain critical insights that can be easily overlooked from the conference room.

My Background

Over the years, I have been a senior team member or led strategy projects for a broad range of consumer, commercial and industrial brands.

  • Segmentation, targeting and positioning
  • Product/service concept evaluation (including pricing)
  • Marketing auditing, planning and monitoring programs
  • Brand strategy development
  • Message engineering, and
  • Implementation and evaluation

A Marketing Practitioner as Well as a Consultant

That means I understand your perspective and objectives for the business.

I can identify the fastest and most cost-effective ways to get those insights from customers and prospects.

My Bachelor’s degree is in Math and Philosophy from Colby College and my Master’s is in International Affairs from Columbia University.

I also teach Marketing in the MBA program at Champlain College and author a blog with tips on how to write your own Customer Satisfaction Questionnaire.

Finally, I live in Vermont, where I enjoy sailing, chess, hiking and skiing.
